Description

NOTE: This session is FULL! Also available: the next session on March 15.

Create your own letterpress poster in this workshop with the San Jose Printers’ Guild at History Park. Peruse our collection of wood type and engravings to compose your own message or artistic assemblage. You will learn to print on our 1962 Challenge 15 GP auto-inking proof press. Each participant will print up to eight copies 13″ x 19″ to take home, plus extras to exchange with others in the session.

Each class is limited to four students. Time is 10 AM to 2:30 PM, including a short lunch break (bring your own bag lunch; food is not available on site). No previous printing knowledge is needed, but experienced participants can work ahead as possible. Instructor Matt Kelsey has been leading letterpress workshops at History Park since 2010, and has been the lead organizer of the Bay Area Printers’ Fair & Wayzgoose since 2014.

Date: January 18, 2025, 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
