Join us for a summer evening of letterpress printing at History Park, on Friday, August 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. You can design and compose your own poster, choosing vintage wood type, ornaments, and engravings from our collection.

The summer evening natural light allows us to expand our work space outside in the shade behind the print shop. There will be up to four participants sharing two presses outside and one inside.

You will be able to print six or more copies of your poster as time allows, and be able to choose from three ink colors using handheld brayers. No previous printing knowledge is needed, but experienced participants can jump ahead in their work. Instructor Matt Kelsey has been leading letterpress workshops at History Park since 2010, and has been the lead organizer of the Bay Area Printers’ Fair & Wayzgoose since 2014.
